IBE 2026 Recap

Second year in a row at The Notorious IBE, second year full of epic moments. Three days where we met half the world, made tons of new friends and created new connections. IBE needs no introduction (you can see our first time here), a city invaded by Hip Hop Heads on 6—I repeat, six—stages with screenings, beatmaking, workshops, battles, parties and so on. Plus, a large market area, where we celebrated our love for our culture with you all at our stand. It's impossible to describe, you have to experience it especially in the free time between battles; when they happen, you relax, you meet your worldwide people and the scene grows its roots. IBE initially was a jam, with Writers, MCs, DJs and Breakers. That vibe is still very present and tangible even if (sigh) there are no more writers and open mics, maybe in the future... it would be wonderful. You can feel the fire in the many people who stopped to tag our book, you can see it in the curious eyes and in the people looking for new connections, a discussion, a mental as well as physical exchange.

We truly felt at home, an integral part of the event. Thank you Yvonne, Chantal, Tyrone and the entire team who have made this possible for 25 years; it's an indelible mark.
A huge thank you also to Giulia and Hip Hop Cinefest for the support and for becoming a global reference for documenting our culture. Their screenings were incredible again this year! Support them and, if you have interesting material, contact them! Finally, a huge hug to Swift Rock for sharing the weekend with us, filled with incredible anecdotes and laughter, this is it!! To Lilou and his wonderful family and to Yhi for the great vibes. The neighborhood rocks! To Shark Camps Breakerz for everything he do (SUPPORT), a shout out to all the friends who stopped by the stand, to Ipiki Ookami , to Romeo’s Schaafijs with their delicious granitas and especially to Tommy for helping us out this long weekend. We look forward to seeing even more of you at the next edition; you won't be disappointed.
